Housed in the former residence of the Duke of Santo Mauro, the Santo Mauro exhibits an architecture with marked French influences. Especially spectacular are the old library, today transformed into a restaurant and the old ballrooms, which are used today as large meeting rooms. The hotel also has a sauna.
It convenient location means you can easily get to the most exclusive designer shops of the city in the surrounding area. The AC Santo Mauro, Autograph Collection is located in a residential area in Madrid's centre. 300 meters from Paseo de la Castellana (main business and shopping avenue), 500 meters from some of the most exclusive, designer shops and 300 meters from the hotel, there is a metro station Alonso Martínez with 3 lines. It is located in the heart of the Madrilenian district of Chamberi, very near the Paseo de la Castellana and also, well known for the exquisite mansions built by the Spanish nobility at the end of the 19th Century.
Following the death of the Duke, his heirs rented out the mansion to various countries, the most recent occupant being the Embassy of Philippines.
Nowadays, the mansion’s library remains intact and has been converted into the renowned Santo Mauro restaurant. The ballrooms with large windows that lead to the garden are also original.
The hotel has a splendid 700m2 garden where one can find some of the oldest chestnut trees in Madrid. During summer it becomes an extension of our restaurant and it becomes a very popular dinner venue for both pleasure and business purposes.
