The Cologne City Museum is a museum of the city of Cologne. The focus of his collection is the history of the city of Cologne. There are around 300,000 objects, of which 5,000 are involved. Between 600 and 1000 more come every year. According to its direct director Werner Schäfke, the museum is not the public museum in Cologne, open to Cologne as a rule.

The Cologne patrician widow Agnes von Lyskirchen donated a cruciform chapel for the area of the armory in 1348. The Prussian carriage hall of the armory was not reopened after the Second World War. A special feature is the golden "wing car" on the roof of the armory tower, which was installed there on April 25, 1991 by HA Schult as part of the "Fetish Car" campaign.
