O Castelo de Žužemberk é um dos mais pitorescos da Eslovénia.
Sua história remonta ao século 13, as suas defesas foram reforçadas com sete torres enormes redondas no século 16.
De 1538 até a Segunda Guerra Mundial, foi propriedade da família nobre Auersperg de Turjak.
Durante a guerra, o castelo foi fortemente bombardeado, mas as restaurações começaram na década de 1960.
O castelo agora abriga eventos culturais e turísticos do verão.
