O parque fica em um pequeno vale, no seu centro existe uma esplanada circular rodeada por belas espécies de árvores. O jardim também possui uma lagoa, um lindo bosque e um cacto com uma amostra completa das espécies chilenas.
Este Jardim Botânico possui mais de 3.000 espécies, várias delas de grande valor.

Por Microbus:
De Viña del Mar ou Valparaíso: Pegue o Microbus Nº203 da Expresos Viña del Mar que passa por Errázuriz em Valparaíso e continua por Alvarez em Viña del Mar. Desça no Terminal El Salto. Atravesse a ponte El Olivar e caminhe cerca de 500 m até a Portería.
De carro:
De Viña del Mar: seguir pela Calle Limache até o terminal de ônibus nº 203 de Expresos Viña del Mar, em El Salto. Vire à esquerda, atravesse Puente El Olivar e siga cerca de 500 metros até a Portería.
De Viña del Mar, Quilpué ou Concón: pegue o Caminho Troncal e vire em direção ao Caminho El Olivar. Depois de aproximadamente 2.200 metros, você chegará à Portería.
Talvez o mais excepcional seja o toromiro, árvore nativa da Ilha de Páscoa, onde se extinguiu. Com a sua madeira foram construídas as "mesas falantes" e os "toromiros" da Ilha de Páscoa. Neste Jardim Botânico foi reproduzido e em 1995 levado para a Ilha de Páscoa, no esforço de devolvê-lo ao seu território original.
