Preparation

The squash is divided into small pieces, it is cleaned well by removing the seeds, the sweet is scraped and put in a large pot (if it does not have sweet, then replace it with the brown sugar), with the two cups of water to make the honey. the squash is arranged on top with the shell facing up. cover well and leave for more or less 4 hours over low heat. It must be preserved, that is, the honey must be somewhat thick.

Ingredients

  • 1 10-pound squash
  • 2 bundles of dulce de rapadura (if you are from Nicaragua, you can also use 5 pounds of brown sugar)
  • 2 cups of water
  • some cinnamon sticks to taste
  • some cloves to taste
