Preparation

Beat eggs well, until light and fluffy. Add butter, sugar, lemon juice and mix well. Next add flour and salt. Mix and let sit for a while. Roll very thin; working with a little dough at a time. Keep remainder dough covered. Cut dough into strips approximately 3 x 1. Make a slit in the centre of the strip; take one end and fold and twist through the slit. Sprinkle with icing sugar, after frying in hot oil just lightly browned on both sides.

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 tbsp butter (room temp)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 level tsp salt
