Frankenau is known due to its location in the midst of the nature, not far from the famouse Sauerland. The park is hidden between the green of the Sternberg border, directly along the national park Kellerwald - Edersee. You literally here within several steps in the national park, where you can make walks through the hilly landscape. You can visit the park with the guidance of a forester, who will tell you everything about its history.
The holiday house Stern is approx. 85m2 big and situated on one of the most beautiful places. Here you have a beautiful wide view over Frankenau and its surrounding. The comfortable house is located on the first floor of this characteristic half timber house and has a living/bedroom, open kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bathroom with shower and a balcony.
Close by you will find the biggest lake of Germany, the Edersee. At this outstretched lake, you can go diving, surfing, water skiing, canoeing and boat sailing, fishing and swimming. Then this region is very interested in culture-historic cities like Bad Arolsen, Frankenberg, Waldeck and Bad Wildungen. In the winter you can go skiing and langlauf in teh vicinity of Winterberg or Willingen.
