Situated in Bloomsbury in London's West End, The Academy comprises a collection of five Georgian townhouses combined into one hotel. Following a multi-million-pound interior refurbishment by YTL Hotels, The Academy is now a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection. It is located a 5 minutes’ walk from The British Museum and Goodge Street underground station.
All rooms were created by the award winning New York “Champalimaud Design” and feature a marble en-suite shower room and bespoke furniture. A full English breakfast is on offer in the dining room, as well as continental options. A wide variety of restaurants are located a short walk from the hotel.
Located in the garden of The Academy is Mr. Ma’s Tea House Spa. The bespoke spa references 1920’s Bloomsbury and offers traditional Asian body therapies, such as a hot medicinal herbal footbath followed by Zhi ya, Chinese reflexology or Tuina an invigorating and rhythmical acupressure to energise and balance the body.
Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Covent Garden are all 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Within 1 mile are the shops of Oxford Street, the nightlife of Soho, restaurants of Chinatown, and the history of Trafalgar Square.
