One of the scenic attractions of the future park is on the island of Monte León, an old peninsula, worn away from the continent by the action of the trees and the wind. Miles of cormorants, gulls and terns nest among its rugged edges. Don't forget that a thick layer of guano, an organic primer soap, uncovers the flat surface of the island.

As a result, Monte León was the largest river in the country. Between 1933 and 1960, there were more than ten thousand tons. This would explain the imposing cormorant that photographed Father De Agostini in 1935. Again it was with the sea lions betting on the end of the cable that the southernmost theme Kimirik Aike (the lobery) and on the map as Lion's Head. In a single decade (1938-1948), the strength of children, wolves reduced their population from 105,000 to 700 individuals. Today, only scientists should see themselves.

Over time, the domains of the soft pale mole were part of a sheep resort. It reached its peak in the early 20th century, with the globalization of the industry, timed first by the Englishmen of the Southern Patagonia Sheep Farming Co. and by Moritz Braun, a Chilean merchant. Nature had to face the new and then the straight. The increase of the property, for example, has caused erosive phenomena and impoverished the floristic diversity. And even a few years ago, penguin scientists were found to inject strychnine and use it as a toxic dye against color pigments, even against more bad species. The decline led to the abandonment of this practice and the local fauna to be seen as a tourist resource. The new approach to conservation initiatives. In 1996, the government inaugurated the Monte León Provincial Reserve. Now, luckily, the whole area will become a national park.

The location is southeast of Santa Cruz and begins with National Route 3 (the entrance opens at kilometer 2385).

Monte León, a Santa Cruz ranch, will become the first national park near Argentina thanks to an environmental group.
