Opgericht in 1996. Deze galerij presenteert hedendaagse kunst van zowel Slowaakse als buitenlandse kunstenaars.
De belangrijkste activiteit van de galerij is het tentoonstellen van internationale sculpturen en objecten. Terwijl de galerij ruimte heeft voor indoor beeldhouwwerk, heeft het de neiging om kunst uit de galerij te installeren rond verschillende delen van de oude stad.
Het heeft meer dan 130 tentoonstellingen georganiseerd met het woord van meer dan 1500 kunstenaars uit 33 landen.
De "Z" komt van de naam van het gebouw waarin de galerij zich bevindt - Zichy Palace (Zichyho Palac).
