The building is marked by the total coverage of the slates "from the 17th century, when the atmosphere of excessive religiosity covered the windows of lattice that would give Braga the appearance of a Muslim city" (In Guia de Braga - Art and Tourism, Sérgio da Silva Pinto, edition of the Municipal Council of Braga, 1959).
House of the Rivets or the Gelosias, is an architectural example of the parish of São João do Souto, Braga in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
It is classified as Property of Public Interest.
