Milos
Milos is a Greek volcanic island in the Aegean Sea, north of the Cretan Sea. Milos is the southernmost island of the Cyclades archipelago. The island is famous for the statue of Aphrodite (the "Venus de Milo", now in the Louvre), and also for the statues of the Greek god Asclepius (now in the British Museum) and Poseidon. The Municipality of Milos also includes the uninhabited islands of Antimilos and Akradies. The combined total area is 160,147 km2 (61,833 sq mi).
Tourism
There are a number of museums that are worth visiting. The Mining Museum is located on the waterfront in Adamas and provides the glimpse of the history of mining dating back to the Neolithic era. The archaeological museum on the island of Milos, Greece, is located in Plaka, the capital of the milos of Greece, and houses the famous statue of Venus de Milo. The Historical and Folk Museum of Milos is within walking distance of the Archaeological Museum and is housed in a 200 year old residence which serves as a reconstruction of the Miloan lifestyle from the seventeenth century.

The Catacombs date from the late second century AD Three catacombs are connected through passages where many Christians are buried in graves. The Roman theater dating back to the Hellenistic period is located near the catacombs.

Gastronomy
The most representative types of Meliana cuisine are "pitarakia" - stuffed with spicy dry cheese or cream cheese with mint - the sweet "karpouzopita" - a traditional sweet tart made of watermelon and "glyko koufeto" made from a sweet pumpkin kernel with honey and almonds.

The "Glyko koufeto" pastry is served at weddings and engagements by the bride's mother. Honey symbolizes the sweet life the couple must live in, while almonds represent the fruits of fertility.

In the numerous restaurants, tavernas, steakhouses and eating houses of the island, there are many options: you can taste fresh fish and international cuisine. We strongly suggest that you try the delicious "astakomakaronada" - lobster spaghetti, grilled octopus or octopus cooked in wine, fresh fish, "ladenia" (tasty pie with olive oil, tomato and onion) as well as dishes made from local meats such the roast rooster or rooster cooked in wine.
Climate
the island has a warm climate with little rainfall during the mild winter months. The Meltemi wind blows during the summer. September is the best time to visit greece milos. Beautiful hot springs set in the hills, surrounded by natural rock. Milos island in Greece is not referred to as the "geological museum" for nothing. The island is rich in obsidian, alum, perlite, sulfur, barite, kaolin, and bentonite. White sand characterizes the thousands of beautiful strands and inlets where the turquoise colored water from the ocean meets the land.
