Malé
Malé is the largest city and capital of the Maldives. The city is located at the southern end of the Kaafu Atoll. It is also one of the administrative subdivisions of the country. Traditionally it was the island of the King, where the ancient royal dynasty of the Maldives ruled and where his palace was located. Today it is the seat of government and business, commercial, business and educational center. It has a population of approximately 80 thousand people, being approximately one third of the population of the country.

The island is heavily urbanized, with the city occupying virtually all of it and is the most densely populated city in the world.
Tourism
It is the capital and the most populous city in the Maldives. It may sound weird, but you will not find any natural beach there, just an artificial one, where you can swim or sunbathe. Surrounded by dikes, the city splits into areas with skyscrapers and offices and pleasant, tree-lined residential villas. Among the most important buildings are the modern Presidential Palace and the Islamic Center, which opened in 1984, a splendid complex with a gold-domed mosque, an Islamic library and conference centers. From the temples, stands the Hukuru Miskiy, a mosque built in the seventeenth century and surrounded by a cemetery. Already the culture of the island can be explored in the pieces of the National Museum, with treasures that tell the history on the monarchies and the pre-Islamic period. Outside the building there is a beautiful garden. If the idea is a typical program, two tips: stop at one of the tea shops and visit the fish markets. Although all indicate the Avenue Chaandhanee Magu to buy souvenirs, there are similar shops in various parts of the city.
Gastronomy
The cuisine of the Maldivian Archipelago is not made up of complicated dishes but it does not need to, since the fish and seafood are so fresh that they dissolve in the mouth, turning into authentic delicacies. The main ingredient of this cuisine is the tuna, which receives several names depending on its preparation: "divehi" fried, "valo mas" smoked, "but humi" prepared with salt, but "riad" adorned with curry and "kandukulh" in soup.
Climate
Malé has a tropical monsoon climate under the Köppen climate classification. The city features a mix of both wet and dry seasons, with the wet season lasting from May through December and the dry season covering the remaining four to five months. Unlike a number of cities with this climate, Malé experiences relatively consistent temperatures throughout the course of the year, with an average high of 30 degrees Celsius and an extremely average low of 26.5 degrees Celsius, which is equivalent to many equatorial cities' average year round daily mean. The city averages slightly more than 1600 mm of precipitation annually.
