Puerto Natales
Puerto Natales is a city in Chilean Patagonia. It is the capital of the community of Natales and the province of Ultima Esperanza, one of the four provinces that make up the Magalhães Zone and the Chilean Antarctic Region in the extreme south of Chile.
Puerto Natales is the only city in the province that is located 247 km (153 miles) northwest of Punta Arenas.
The city is located at the opening of the Last Hope which was originally inhabited by the people Kawésqar or Alacaluf and Aoniken or Tehuelche.
The first European to discover the city was Juan Ladrillero.
The city was later colonized by European immigrants, mainly Germans, English, Welsh and Scots, Croats, Greeks, Italians and Spaniards.
The city was formally founded under the government of Ramón Barros Luco on May 31, 1911. Nowadays, one of its most important sectors is tourism, although cattle and aquaculture and winemaking industries are also very significant.

Gastronomy
The cuisine is somewhat exotic and varied, including deer, wild boar, hares, ducks, cheeses and Patagonian cold cuts, and where you can also choose trout or Patagonian lamb, then taste a dessert of local fruits or sweets, all this with the view of the Andes enjoying a good and recognized wine of the region.
The famous Argentine beef is also another delight when you taste a good chorizo steak with French fries.

Weather
The best time to visit the Chilean Patagonia and especially the Torres del Paine National Park are the spring, summer and early autumn months, that is, between the months of October and April.
Although the park does not close in the winter, during this season there are few hotel options and some paths can not be used.
In the summer predominate the sunny days with wind. The maximum temperatures oscillate between 13 and 22 ° C, while the lowest ones fall to 5 ° C. The summer days can last until the 18 hours.
In winter there are maximum temperatures of 8 ° C and minimum temperatures between 1 ° and -2 ° C. The days remain sunny, but there is little wind. Torres del Paine has a microclimate that is what makes it pleasant to visit it all year round.
