Coastal hills area that in winter, due to the accumulation of fog, fills with greenery. Life zone for snails, foxes, harriers, owls and other animals. Its appeal is not limited to the beauty of the greenery in the winter season, its rock formations, its petroglyphs, its cliffs (as for rappelling or climbing) its abandoned mine make it worth visiting at any time of the year. There is an area for camping in the part of Quebrada Verde but the problem is that there is no water there.
Between the Rural Population Centers (CPR) Quebrada Verde, Guayabo and PicaPiedra, in the District of Pachacamac, in Metropolitan Lima.
Las Lomas de Lúcumo is located in the department of Lima, province of Huarochirí.
At kilometer 31 of the Pan-American Highway you access the town of Pachacámac. From there, a 2.5 kilometer affirmed road will take the traveler to the beautiful ravine.
The Lúcumo hills have a great variety of wild plants due to the intense humidity, which is why the place becomes an environment with the capacity to develop an ecosystem. This vegetation is adapted to these climatic conditions which represents a unique characteristic.
There is a great variety of geological structures of volcanic and sedimentary origin.
Generally, in the high areas, intrusive granite and diorite rocks are observed, which began to form seventy million years ago. The long period of wear and tear has left its marks on the rocks, producing excavations and smooth, rounded contours.
The rocks and crevices are home to various reptiles, insects, and some rodents. You can see plants such as the myth, the amancaes, the cacti, as well as a variety of shrubs and herbs, we can also see animals such as vizcachas, lizards, foxes, snails and birds such as turtledoves, cuculíes, eagles, owls, among other species.
