Discovered in 1965, the Menir da Meada is the largest Menir of the Iberian Peninsula with about 4 meters high from the ground, and a maximum diameter of 1.25 meters, weighing about 15 tons.
Menir da Meada was fragmented, having undergone some restoration work that made it possible to restore the original appearance of this monolithic granite of phallic configuration.
Located in Santa Maria da Devesa, municipality of Castelo de Vide.
Classified as a National Monument, the Menir da Meada was erected in the Neo-Chalcolithic Period in an area rich in megalithic vestiges, apparently aligned with each other.
