The origin of the buildings buildings are Anibal Gonzalez for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929. The project is from 1910 and its construction took place between 1911 and 1916. Although the project that forms part of the Plaza de America along with other buildings is from 1913 It was called to the Palace of Ancient Art and now known as the Mudéjar Pavilion.
The building has four floors, occupying an area of almost 8,000 m2, distributed between the surface facilities and internal services.
In 1972 it became Museum, occupying only the first floor and basement to be made into several rooms and ground floor reserved for exhibitions that show its reserve funds or other institutions. His collections are essentially ethnographic and anthropological content from the seventeenth century to the twentieth century, with pieces of great artistic value.
