The new Parque de La Muralla is a valuable public space recovered for the city of Lima as part of the project to recover the bank of the Rímac River. The Wall ranged from the area today recovered to Monserrate, including the current avenue Grau. The works for the construction of an expressway in that avenue revealed some vestiges. It is necessary to remember that behind the Conchucos slaughterhouse there are 150 meters of La Muralla in an excellent state of conservation that the Municipality could also recover. When the demolition of the plots on Rastro de La Penitencia street was ordered in 1964, it was discovered that the colonial hovels still served as a room for people in great need.
The presence of 300 linear meters of this and a site museum that exhibits the archaeological pieces found in the area, give a cultural and historical character to the recreation center, located on the left bank of the traditional Rímac river in Lima.

The Wall was not a paragon of beauty. Except for the portals of Maravillas and El Callao, the other doors (10), according to the painter Juan Manuel Ugarte, had no greater artistic appeal. What remains of the Wall in Conchucos, if it is in a good state of conservation, is because of the religious institution that protects it.
The construction material were the walls and bastions whose purpose was to defend the city of Lima from enemy and pirate attacks.
