Former city zoo, only three other squares (two in Brazil and one in Germany) have their architectural style. It has an octagonal bandstand imported from Germany, from where the pavement mosaic on the outside also came. The four sculptures that represent the seasons were carved in Italy in Pizza and donated by an Italian count who came to hunt in the Pantanal. The native plants of the region, such as the carandá, the bocaiúva and the ipe-purple, are part of the diversified afforestation. Corumbaenses revere in the square the heroes of the War of Paraguay and World War II. The Plaza was opened in 1917.
