The private collection prototype - people. Force. Dare. is the automobile museum in Hamburg. The focus is on the presentation of sports and racing cars from the German post-war period as well as their designers and drivers.
The idea of giving the historical meaning, the meaning and the space, like the people who made motorsport great with their passion that Thomas König and Oliver Schmidt actually used in the development of the car museum. Over the years they built up the collection and looked after the concept of the museum: stories history history. On these thoughts the motto prototype - people. Force. Dare. See also in the HafenCity in the listed personal factory building of the Hamburger Gummi-Kamm-Compagnie, which was built between 1902 and 1906 and is in the local of the International Maritime Museum Hamburg.
The events are shown in scene without disruptive barriers or glass panes. The designated automobiles are located on three identical ones with an exhibition area of 2500 m². The museum will show the fascination of the automobile recognizing its motto people. Force. Cars .. A focus of the collection are about 50 automobiles, engines and models of sports and racing cars from z. B. Porsche, Volkswagen and Borgward, shared from the 40s, 50s and 60s of the 20th century as well as modern exhibits like the prototype for Audi's Le Mans building from 1999 or Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel's first Formula 1 racing cars. In the collection, visitors will find many special features and unique items such as the value of the Porsche Type 64 Berlin-Rome car, a Porsche 356 from 1950, the formula racing car with a Porsche Spyder boxer engine from Otto Mathé or the 1948 racing car from Petermax Müller , with a tuned 78 HP Beetle engine installed on the chassis of a VW bucket car.
Small exhibits in showcases and informative text panels, which are part of the displays in the floor, offer interesting thoughts about everyday life and about the strokes of fate of the racing drivers and designers. The exhibition concept, which includes a cinema, a model wind tunnel, an audio box with a different soundcheck of racing engines, a library, a glass workshop and a Porsche 356 driving simulator. We change special exhibitions and a photo gallery complete the comprehensive presentation.
The founders of the museum see their company as a kind of prototype, a meeting place for those interested in the trust motorsport designers to be amazed, be happy and talk shop North.
