Inside is the image of the Lord Jesus of Mercy (Jesus on the Cross), which is the object of deep devotion to the Alentejo people (especially the district of Portalegre) and also to the surrounding area (on both sides of the border ). In the adjoining rooms, three very curious "Houses of Miracles" of the Sanctuary exposes itself to the most interesting collection of ex-votos that attest to the secular devotion.
