Founded in 1538, this city also known as La Perla de los Andes, became during the colony one of the most important of the Peruvian viceroyalty. Due to its strategic location in the central plateau of the country, it is a forced passage between the central jungle and the capital of Peru.
Its privileged climate, the blue of the sky and the green and flowery landscapes, added to the nuances of its people and the color of its tradition make of this city a true paradise for rest and contemplation of the landscape. For this reason, it is also called "the city of flowers", in reference to the large number of parcels dedicated to its planting.
