Tlalnepantla Cathedral, or Corpus Christi Cathedral, was consecrated on August 23, 1964. Formerly it was the Corpus Christi Convent, built by the Franciscan Order in the year 1535.

It is a cannon nave temple, with the classic arrangement of 16th century monasteries, with a central nave attached to a cloister and atrium on the outskirts of both buildings. The glyphs of the cities of Calacoaya and Teocalhueyecan, assembled by the Franciscan friars in the middle of both villages, were engraved by indigenous hands on the north gate, forming Tlalnepantla.

In the cloister, Tequitqui-style paintings are preserved in the niches of each corner.
