Tortuguero National Park is located in the north-east of Costa Rica. This is one of the most well-known parks internationally, and for good reasons, in addition to being one of the most important spawning locations for olive ridley, leatherback and other turtles, this ecosystem is as diverse as nature itself.

Tortuguero National Park is one of the most popular ecotourism destinations, due to its scenic beauty and rich biodiversity. The canals, rivers, beaches, and lakes of this area are a living laboratory of tropical rainforest, fresh water, and marine biology.

The wildlife in this area is very diverse, there are usually large populations of monkeys, amphibians, birds and fish.



Resident fauna includes tapirs, jaguars, grisons, sloths, frogs, limpets, toucans, and bats.





On the Caribbean coast, Limón province. Approximately 80 km northeast of the city of the same name. To get to the Park you can do it by air or sea, some of the most used routes are Siquirres (Freeman), Moín and Caño Blanco.







The park and the refuge consist of the floodplain lowlands that are formed by the coalescence of the deltas of several rivers, down to the old lowland of Nicaragua. The location and geological factors make this area one of the wettest and rainiest in the country.
