Saint Kitts and Nevis
The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a sovereign State of the Caribbean, more properly part of the Barlavento islands, and consists of the islands of Saint Kitts (Saint Kitts, colloquially, or Saint Christopher, officially) and Nevis, Nevis or Neves (in English, Nevis). It is also the smallest sovereign state of the Americas in territorial extension and in number of inhabitants.

The capital and seat of the federal government is Basseterre, on the island of St. Kitts. The smaller island, Neves, is located three kilometers from São Cristóvão, being separated by a shallow narrow one that locally is called The Narrows.

Historically, the British dependency of Anguilla was also part of the federation, which was at that time known as Saint Kitts-Neves-Anguilla. The islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis are geographically part of the Barlavento Islands. The closest neighbors are the islands of St. Eustatius, Saba, St. Bartholomew, the island of St. Martin and Anguilla to the northwest; Antigua and Barbuda to the east and northeast, and Redonda and Monserrate to the southeast.

Saint Kitts and Nevis was one of the first archipelagos of the Caribbean to be populated by Europeans. The island of St. Kitts received both the first British colony and the first French colony in the Caribbean, and as such is sometimes referred to as "the West Indian mother colony".

For beach lovers, St. Kitts and Nevis are a paradise. Around here you can find breathtaking beaches: from the northern ebony sands to the white sands of snow, those in the southern areas of Banana Bay, Cockleshell, Frigate Bay, Bay and Restinga.
The weather in St. Kitts and Nevis is quite regular throughout the year, except during the months of July and November, which is when hurricanes are most likely to occur, and the ambient temperature reaches 39 degrees Celsius.
Gastronomy
Due to the fertility of their land, many greenery, greens and fresh fruits are grown in St. Kitts and Nevis. The diet also includes many fish and meats, mainly goats. The style of the cuisine is quite simple, similar to the Caribbean cuisine of other neighboring countries. Goat fillet, perhaps the best known dish in San Cristóbal and Nieves, mixes goat's meat, fruit, green papaya and meatballs (also known as "droplets") with tomato sauce. Another favorite dish is the Pelou, a stew that combines chicken, pork, cod and vegetables with rice and beans.
Rum is the most popular drink in Saint Kitts and Nevis and throughout the Caribbean. Brinley Gold Company manufactures rum in San Cristóbal with distinct flavors such as coffee, mango and vanilla. But the national rum is actually the Cane Spirits Rothschild (usually abbreviated as CSR), distilled from fresh cane. Belmont State and St. Kitts Rum also produce rum in the country. In addition, several bars offer home-made rum of varied quality.

Many Nevis villages make barbecues on Fridays and Saturdays at night, where people gather to eat, drink and play dominoes, or just have fun.
Weather
The climate of Saint Kitts and Nevis is classified as tropical marine with a rainy season and a dry season. On the other hand, the islands enjoy warm temperatures even with an average of about 24-27 ° C (75.2-80.6 ° F) and humidity is low at 71%. Seasonal and diurnal temperature variations are small. The precipitations are mainly orographic and the increase of the quantity and the frequency with the altitude. With the exception of the southeastern peninsula, which is very dry, with an average annual rainfall ranging from 406 mm in coastal areas, to 1,524 mm in the central mountain ranges, but from May to October rainfall is more intense, while temperatures are somewhat hotter.

Although hurricane season officially lasts from June to November, most hurricanes struck in August and November.
