Il palazzo fu fatto costruire dal presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, iniziando i lavori nell'agosto 1929. I lavori furono sollevati su quello che era stato il Forte Callao. Il palazzo è di stile neocoloniale, con elementi neomedievali. I suoi mobili in stile tradizionale, i giardini sono stati progettati da Carlos Ibáñez, lontano parente del presidente. La costruzione si compone di tre piani e un seminterrato, dispone di un'ampia sala da pranzo e terrazze con vista mare, otto camere da letto, due soggiorni e l'ufficio del Presidente.

Dal Terminal San Borja a Santiago situato a San Borja Nº 235, nella metropolitana della stazione centrale. Il loro numero di telefono è (56) (2) 776 7079. Una delle opzioni per arrivare a Viña del Mar è attraverso la Strada 68, entri a Valparaíso e segui le indicazioni corrette per arrivare a Viña. L'autostrada Viña - Valparaíso è lunga 5,5 km e inizia a Caleta Abarca.
C'è anche un percorso diretto a Viña del Mar dalla Route 68 verso Variante Agua Santa o Route 66, per percorrere un bellissimo sentiero con vista sulla baia di Valparaíso e sulle spiagge di Viña del Mar.
È un'opera superba e colorata con una vista spettacolare verso il Pacifico meridionale. Apre le sue porte per essere visitato l'ultima domenica di maggio, Giornata del Patrimonio Nazionale.
