De bouw van het paleis kreeg van president Carlos Ibáñez del Campo de opdracht, waarmee in augustus 1929 met de werkzaamheden werd begonnen. Het werk werd opgericht op wat ooit Fort Callao was geweest. Het paleis heeft een neokoloniale stijl met neo-middeleeuwse elementen. Het meubilair in traditionele stijl, de tuinen zijn ontworpen door Carlos Ibáñez, verre verwant van de president. De constructie bestaat uit drie verdiepingen en een souterrain, heeft een grote eetkamer en terrassen met uitzicht op zee, acht slaapkamers, twee woonkamers en het kantoor van de president.

Met de auto:
Een van de opties om Viña del Mar te bereiken is via Route 68, u rijdt Valparaíso binnen en volgt de juiste borden om Viña te bereiken. De snelweg Viña - Valparaíso is 5,5 km lang en begint in Caleta Abarca.
Er is ook een directe route naar Viña del Mar vanaf Route 68 richting Variante Agua Santa of Route 66, om een prachtig pad af te leggen met uitzicht op de baai van Valparaíso en de stranden van Viña del Mar.
Het is een prachtig en kleurrijk werk met een spectaculair uitzicht op de Stille Zuidzee. Het opent zijn deuren voor een bezoek aan de laatste zondag van mei, Nationale Erfgoeddag.
